The Milwaukee Brewers are a professional level baseball team that plays in the Central Division of the Major League Baseball. As the name suggests, the team is based out of their hometown in Wisconsin, where the Milwaukee Brewers relocated. The team was originally from Seattle and were known as the Seattle Pilots. It was only the first year that the team was in Seattle because they moved to Wisconsin in 1970 and have been there since. The team plays its home games at the Miller Park in Milwaukee and they used to play at the Milwaukee County Stadium prior to the year 2000. The team gets its name from the fact that Milwaukee is known for its large brewing industry.
The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t yet won a single World Series game yet, but they have managed to get one Central Division and one Eastern Division title. The Milwaukee Brewers played in the eastern division when they were first part of the American Association. The latest win for the team was in 2011, when they took home the Central Division title. It took the team about twenty-nine years to get their first win, but they managed to do it against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The game against the Diamondbacks went on for five games and that’s when the Milwaukee Brewers took the win. In terms of the 2012 Milwaukee Brewers season, it might be a little interesting to see what they could pull off.
The home stadium for the Milwaukee Brewers is the Miller Park, which was opened in 2001. Prior to using the Miller Park, the team played at the Milwaukee County Stadium as well as the Sick’s Stadium. The Sick’s Stadium is the home stadium the team played at when they were in Seattle as the Seattle Pilots. Today, the Miller Park is the main hub for the Milwaukee Brewers. The stadium seats about 41,900 fans across its diamond shaped seating area. Despite its capacity on seating, the stadium once had a record of 46,218 fans for a single Milwaukee Brewers game. The 2012 season will be played at the Miller Park and spring training for the Milwaukee Brewers will be happening at the Maryvale Baseball Park.
The Milwaukee Brewers will be starting their official season on the sixth of April against the St Louis Cardinals. The 2012 Milwaukee Brewers schedule has been released by the Major League of Baseball and tickets will be going on sale through your respective state team. The games will all be broadcasted through MLB TV, with some games being broadcasted by FOX as well. The very few games that FOX will be broadcasting are Brewers vs. Cardinals on April 7, Brewers vs. Cardinals on April 28 and Brewers vs. Giants on May 5. Regardless, you should be able to catch the game on many of the sports networks running on local cable.
