2012 New York Mets Schedule

The New York Mets are based out of Queens, New York and they play in National League East of the Major League of Baseball. The team was first established in 1962 and they’ve been a part of the National League since then. The team is recognizable by their signature colours; blue, white, black and orange. When the Brooklyn Dodgers moved away from New York, the New York Mets were created as part of an expansion plan. From the start, the team has played at the Shea Stadium. However, in 2008, the team moved into the newly built Citi Field. The Citi Field was a sponsorship project by the New York Mets and the Citi Bank Corporation. The financial institution currently owns the naming rights to the field for a set number of years.

Overall, the team has done well in terms of winning some notable titles. The New York Mets have two World Series titles and five Eastern Division titles. The latest win for the Mets was in 2006, for their division title. The 1986 World Series was played against the Boston Red Sox, for a seven game win. In 1986, the New York Mets finished the season with a 108-54 record, which gave them their Eastern Division win as well. The 1969 World Series was between the New York Mets and the Baltimore Orioles, where the Mets won in a five game series. The team has four National League pennants from 1969, 1973, 1986 and 2000. Being from New York, the team is nothing compared to the Yankees, as they’ve won nearly seventeen World Series. Let’s hope and see whether the 2012 New York Mets games will be of better luck for the team this year.

The 2012 New York Mets schedule is online as of now and tickets will be going on sale through the Citi Field ticket counter. Spring training will also be happening early on this year in March, which will last about a month. The regular season for the New York Mets will begin in April with the first game against the Atlanta Braves. If you are going to be checking out the game this season, you might want to consider checking out the 2012 New York Mets schedule, as it lists the dates, locations and opponents for each game. Several dozen games will be played this season, which will lead into the 2012 playoffs. Many people have predictions that the New York Mets will make it to at least the Eastern Division title, but all we can do is hope for the best.
