2012 Toronto Blue Jays Schedule

Coming right from Toronto, Canada, the Toronto Blue Jays are the official Major League Baseball team representing Canada. The team plays in the Eastern Division and has been since 1977. The team was first founded and joined to be a part of the American League in 1977. The team has never relocated from Toronto, but they have played in two different stadiums overtime. The name of the team does come from the bird, Blue Jay, and the color represents the city’s official sports colors. If you take a look at the colors representing the NHL Maple Leafs and Argonauts, you would see that the color blue is a large part of the team’s logo. Fans sometimes refer to the Toronto Blue Jays as the Jays, as that is the shortened nickname.

The Toronto Blue Jays took home the World Series two years in a row in 1992 and 1993. They also have two American League pennants and five Eastern Division titles, with the last one from 1993. The early nineties were amazing for the team as they were led by some of the most powerful players from the Jays. The 1993 World Series was against the Philadelphia Phillies, where the Blue Jays took the win on the sixth game. At the time, the team was still owned and managed by the Labatt Brewing Company, which held part ownership in the Exhibition Stadium as well. When the Toronto Blue Jays first started playing, there home games were held at the Exhibition Stadium, but that was only until 1989. From 1989 to 2000, the Skydome was the official ball park for the Toronto Blue Jays, but Rogers Communications bought out the company and renamed it to the Rogers Stadium.

The 2012 Toronto Blue Jays series is going to start off this year with the spring training scheduled in March. The spring training will be happening in Florida, as part of the Cactus League. In their opening spring training game, the Jays will be facing Pittsburgh Pirates in Dunedin, Florida. A number of games will be played on a daily basis which would then follow into the regular season games.  The official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays season begins in April, against the Cleveland Indians at Cleveland, Ohio. If you are still wondering, the 2012 Toronto Blue Jays schedule has been put up by the Major League of Baseball and tickets will be going on sale through the Rogers Stadium. For away games, you could purchase tickets from the team playing at home.
